Mighty Marching Tigers

Attire for HBCU Night is wind suits with white band shirt and white shoes.

Students planning to participate in spring and fall 2024 marching band must participate in either Symphonic or Concert band. Please click here for the roster. If your name is not on either list, please notify Mr. Sharpe immediately.

💂🏽‍♂️ Attendance and punctuality - Regular attendance at band rehearsals is required of students. Parents are requested to send an email in the event of an absence. Students who have unexcused absences will not be allowed to participate in any games or performances during that particular week.

📚 Grades - It is required for students to maintain a minimum grade of 71 in all classes. If a student's grade falls below 71 in any class, they will be suspended from band until their grade improves.

💊 Bring any necessary medicine and inhalers to practice as required.

Jazz Ensemble

The report time for the JHE Fine arts day is 8:20 AM. Make sure 👍 you are in full Jazz ensemble performance attire upon arrival to school.

Symphonic & Concert Wind Ensembles

Members of the Symphonic and Concert Bands will present between 1 and 4 concerts a semester. Concerts are required formal events for all band students. It is the nature of this subject that materials are presented in a professional, public format, which is unique to the arts classes. Students may not be excused from concerts for any reasons not predetermined by the Band Directors. Students will be required to dress appropriately for their performance and must stay for the duration of the entire concert.

General Announcements

💰 Instrument Restocking Fee - A one-time payment ($50), must be paid by students who intend to use a school instrument.

✅ Breezin Thru Theory assignments Chapters 1 - 4 are due.

🕖 Dismissal - The band rehearsal will conclude at 6:00 pm, and students will be allowed to be released by 7:10 pm. All students need to depart from the MMHS campus by 7:30 pm. Parents, please ensure your children are off-campus by this time. For safety reasons, loitering is prohibited on school premises as it may lead to unnecessary complications. Students need to exit the building through the back band room doors and cannot wander through the building for any purpose.
